ABOUT ELIF

Elif Cansever is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma under the guidance of Professor Alexander Gilman at the Royal College of Music. She has received several prestigious scholarships throughout her studies, including the Bowerman Charitable Trust Scholarship, the Stanbridge Drake-Brockman Scholarship, and the Countess of Munster Award.


In 2017, Elif made her solo debut performing J. Sibelius’ Violin Concerto with the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra. Since then, she has performed as a soloist and chamber musician at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall London, Konzerthaus Berlin, Tonhalle Zurich. She has also had the privilege of working with renowned conductors such as Nicholas Collon, Martyn Brabbins, and Vasily Petrenko. Elif is a member and soloist of the LGT Young Soloists, performing across Europe and Asia and recording under the Naxos label.


Elif began studying violin at the age of six at Bilkent University with Rasim Bagirov and later continued her studies with Lutsia Ibragimova at the Royal College of Music. She has participated in masterclasses with renowned musicians and professors such as Maxim Vengerov and Ana Chumachenco.


Elif plays on a fine violin by Joseph Rocca, ca. 1848, on loan from the Royal College of Music, and since 2020, has been using a Hill & Sons bow, funded by the Wolfson Instrument Foundation. Her debut solo album, Beethoven and Brahms Violin Sonatas, was released under the Champs Hill Records label.
